If Kate Bush and Future Islands had a lovechild, you'd get Rat Rios. Singer/songwriter/producer Rat Rios is a solo electronic/new wave artist from Portland, OR making nostalgic melodies that tug at your heart strings. Each composition is a direct channel into her soul by layering vocal harmonies and instruments not unlike an electronic orchestra. Her "music falls somewhere in between 1985 and the fourth dimension" with hopes of evoking catharsis within her listeners. Her dramatic stage presence is a nod to her BFA in theatre that works its way into her live set. She released her self-produced EP Britishfold in 2013 and has been spending the last years meticulously crafting a full length album paired with a corresponding visual album. Rat has played on bills with Youth Lagoon, Puro Instinct, Marc Rebillet, Fear of Men, Baio, and Still Corners.
